About us

We met 14 years ago and immediately fell in love with each other’s instruments and artistic visions. It's our pleasure to share this passion with you - a passion we continue to stoke at our Monday rehearsals, alternating between Berkeley and San Francisco. We’re a true Bay Area duo!

Hong Kong-born and San Francisco-raised, Winnie Wong began studying guzheng at the age of four with virtuoso Weishan Liu and made her public debut at five. Deeply rooted in Chinese musical tradition, Winnie is also passionate about improvisation, contemporary music, and exploring connections across cultures. In 2003, she founded China’s Spirit Music Ensemble, creating a home where generations of guzheng players deepen their artistry, celebrate their heritage, and share the beauty and vitality of this extraordinary instrument.

Irish-born harpist, pianist, composer, author, and teacher Diana Rowan creates music that brings ancient traditions into conversation with life today. Her work draws inspiration from Celtic, Balkan, Middle Eastern, and classical music, with innovation and improvisation at its heart. Diana holds a PhD in music theory, specializing in world harp techniques for composers, and an MM in classical piano performance. She is also the author of The Bright Way: Five Steps to Freeing  the Creative Within. Through her Bright Way Guild online school, she helps people reconnect with their unique creative voices.
