Why Experiencing Art and Creativity In Person Matters More Than Online (BKI 53)

Hi, this is Diana. Bright knowledge instants give you one thing you can do today to move your creativity ahead. And when I was in Paris and had the opportunity to be in person with so many great works of art, so much live music, so much great architecture, it reminded me of the special energy that witnessing things, life has. I believe that the energy that something was created with actually stays within that piece for all time.

So, for example, in great buildings, in great paintings, even within compositions, the energy that was put into them in the first place is still there. And we witness it most strongly when we are in person with that thing. So as I was in the Louvre and walking around the Marais district and being witness to Notre Dame, I felt a type of energy that cannot be felt through screens alone.

And I love online. I think it's so important for learning and it's a way of communication that really, really will stay with us. However, we also want to tend to the live. So my message for you today is what can you witness live in your community now? What music is going on, what beautiful nature is happening, what buildings are happening, what events of all sorts? These days, people are being quite creative.

You know, the traditional job market, for example, has changed so radically that more people are making things, for example. So perhaps there's a potter studio in your town that you can go visit. It doesn't have to just be famous works of art at all. Truth and beauty exists in all cultures, in all places, at all times, times. And you can witness it personally and feel the full force of it replenishing you when you go and be in its presence.

So what is happening right now in your community that you can participate in? And when you are around those things, whether they be dance lectures, it could be absolutely anything, as long as it's live and creative. Notice the difference it makes on your inspiration, which is really at the foundation of absolutely everything when it comes to learning and creativity. What ideas is it giving you?
