How to Use Mercury Retrograde to Boost Learning and Creativity (Even If You're a Skeptic) (BKI 46)

And you might have been hearing a lot of warning reports about guess what, Mercury Retrograde is coming. And this is to do with astrology. Even if you don't believe in astrology, we can actually use the idea of Mercury Retrograde to great advantage for our learning and our creativity, which is what we're all about here at Bright Knowledge Guild.

Right. During Mercury Retrograde, which officially starts on March 5th and it happens actually three times a year for about three weeks or slightly more, during Mercury Retrograde, things like technical hassles will happen, such as your computer won't work and emails won't get through. That's the part people tend to focus on. But there's a whole other part that's far more powerful and far more useful, and that is the retrograde is a great time to focus on anything that is re like regenerate, renew, review, retreat, revive, anything, re, anything.

Looking back to the past and redoing, it's a great time to work in a very different mode than we often do in Western society. In Western society, we're in first gear all the time, we're driving forward all the time. And that's a wonderful thing. We don't want to stop that. But if we only stay in that first gear, what's going to happen? We're going to burn out. So just as in nature, everything cycles in order to stay in balance.

And so your learning and your creativity also thrive when you give some cycle to it. So now is a perfect time for you to actually take a break and sit back a little bit. Let things flow through you, let them percolate. You don't have to feel you're driving forward right now and you have the best excuse in the world. It's Mercury Retrograde, which conveniently happens three times a year.

So it sets you up to take a retreat of some sort. Even if you think astrology is completely woo woo for sure, working in cycles is a great idea for supporting your creativity and your learning. So again, we want to cycle between action and moving forward, which tends to be our default mode, and letting the mystery unfold, letting the juicy intuition come to you, letting yourself be surprised at what comes up.
